Oregon Somali Bravaness Community (OSBC) is a non-profit organization committed to improving the health, well-being, and quality of life for all individuals in Oregon, with a focus on addressing the social determinants of health. We serve everyone in our community—immigrants, refugees, and long-standing residents alike—because we believe that equitable access to health and wellness resources is a right, not a privilege.
Social determinants of health—the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age—play a critical role in shaping individual and community well-being. These factors include access to healthcare, safe and affordable housing, education, economic stability, and social inclusion. At OSBC, we are dedicated to breaking down these barriers to ensure everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive.
